Who Are We?

Jonathan and Adriana Prescott are trained Engineers, serial entrepreneurs, and devoted parents.  We started Homeschool Life to share our radical new approach to home education as explained in our first book, "Kids Don't Need School", which prioritizes the parent-child bond, age-appropriate academic study, and pursuit of mastery instead of grades.  Our Homeschool Life community puts our principles into practice, resulting in self-taught children who are ten to fifteen years ahead of their traditionally schooled peers.  We have been married for two decades, have one living child whom we've homeschooled her entire life, and call Kennewick, Washington, home.

Why us?  We as Engineers are used to critical analysis and problem solving - we love it!  It's what challenges us.  We are not members of the ivory-tower academia.  We are real people who homeschool now and passionately believe that we can help you in your efforts to educate the next generation - your legacy.  We can help you with this challenge and we have the solutions if you are truly committed to the full benefits of homeschooling.

One of those benefits is an improved parent-child relationship.  Homeschooling promotes lifelong bonds, instills values, and fosters family harmony.  Many children who are struggling in school may not just have problems with the subject matter, but with the stressful environment as well.  Bullying from peers or teachers can cause many normally creative children to shut down.  Homeschooling alleviates this problem - especially when it is done in a peaceful environment.
